Dr Etienne Deysel

Etienne qualified from the University of Pretoria in 1989. After completing a year of national service, he entered General Medical Practice in Pretoria until May 2001. During this time Etienne was a shareholder in two Anaesthetic Day Clinics in Pretoria.

In 2001 he was recruited by Integrated Dental Holdings in the UK to set up sedation clinics
in their practices. Etienne has been in full time dental sedation practise since May 2001.
In 2003 Etienne was awarded a PDD.SED (a post graduate qualification in sedation and pain control) from the University of Stellenbosch, studying under Prof James Roelofse, a renowned world leader in sedation.

Further qualifications include: Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Paediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, Immediate Life Support.
Etienne is registered with the General Medical Council in the UK and the Health Professions Council of South Africa.

He is a member of the ADAS (Association of Dental Anaesthetists and Sedationists), SAAD (Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry) and SOSPOSA (Society of Sedation Practitioners of South Africa).

I just wanted to let you all know how much I have appreciated all your excellent work during the complex process needed to ensure I had the chance to have the dental implants that I really wanted successfully completed! At first, I did not realise the complexities that would be involved in making this aim possible, but you and your colleagues supported me through the whole process and managed to overcome any difficulties encountered (and I now realise how tough these were) so that we were eventually able to reach such a successful conclusion. The help of your team in coping with my own problems, mainly due to health, was a further key part of the support you were able to give; without that too, we would not have reached such a good outcome. So many, many thanks to you all.

My search for a kind, caring, and considerate dental team is over now. I have found Karen and her outstanding team. After years of misery hopping from one dentist to another with awful experiences, I had to search far and wide to find a dental practice that would welcome me, make me feel me' again, and take that awful fear of going to the dentist that many of us suffer... And I found Distinctly Dental some 221 miles from home! Karen and her team were so welcoming and completely understood nervous and fearful patients, and they turned my fear into a really positive experience despite having had to undergo very traumatic treatment due to the poor state of my teeth. Karen, her team, and the wonderful dental technician have given me back my self-confidence and a wonderful smile, and I can’t thank them enough. I just wish I had found them sooner. Highly recommended.

As always, very helpful staff from start to finish. The waiting area is very well maintained and super clean, with a nice relaxed feel. Karen is always keen to know if you have any niggles regarding your teeth or general oral problems.
